Oneness

  Good and bad
pain and pleasure
circle round
back and forth

one feeds the other
to build or destroy
one feeds the other
in laughter and joy

in pain and sadness
both will suffer
or both are well
and both rebound with joy

no longer single
or able to tell
each must suffer
as the other one does

each overcoming
the pains of the other

is it all worth it?
This joining of souls?

No choice is given
the truth to be told.

But even so
for the joys that are shared
the pleasures endured
the safety that is shared

all make it worth
the pains and the trials
For the joining is oneness
where half was before

until it is felt
none know what is missed
but to once feel it
makes all else seem like a mist
